FAIRFORD CRICKET CLUB

\
THE 22 PLAYERS IN OUR TWO LEAGUE TEAMS ON SATURDAY, 17TH MAY COMPRISED OF 18 WHO LIVE IN FAIRFORD, 2 BORN AND RAISED IN FAIRFORD AND 2 WHO COME FROM NEIGHBOURING LECHLADE AND BIBURY. FAIRFORD CRICKET CLUB EMBRACES THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND IS A GREAT ADVERT FOR GRASSROOTS CRICKET

Fairford Cricket Club welcomes you to the very traditional and picturesque Cotswold setting at our glorious Park Street Ground part of the scenic Fairford Park Estate, which was founded by English philanthropist Ernest Cook; grandson of the famous Victorian entrepreneur Thomas Cook.

We have two Saturday league sides: One playing in Division Three of the
Gloucestershire County Cricket League (GCCL); the other competing in Division Two of the Cotswold District Cricket Association (CDCA) Cricket League in 2014 after becoming Division Three champions in 2013. We also have a team playing in the CDCA Midweek T20 Cup Competition and a Friendly Xl playing on Sunday afternoons.

There is a developing junior section whose members from School Years 1 to 8 are coached every Friday evening and School Years 9 and 10 are coached every Tuesday evening during the summer (left click
here for full details). Teams play in the Cotswold District Junior Cricket Leagues. Under-9s, Under-11s, Under-11 Girls and Under-13 Girls play Sunday mornings; Under-13s play Thursday evenings; Under-15s playing evenings vary. There are plenty of opportunities for teenagers to play for the adult teams including our women's team who, in 2013, came second in the newly formed Cotswold District Women's League.

The club achieved
Clubmark Accreditation in August 2011, proving we have met the benchmark for high quality community cricket set down by our governing body the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), who have also passed our Club Development Plan for 2013/2014. In February 2012 we were awarded ‘Focus Club’ status by the Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) in recognition of our sound management and outstanding contribution to local schools and the community.

We have school partnership agreements with
Ampney Crucis, Ann Edwards (South Cerney), Bibury, Fairford, Hatherop, Kempsford, Meysey Hampton, St. Lawrence (Lechlade), Siddington and Southrop C. of E. Primary Schools (all members of the Cotswold School Sport Network) where we provide coaching through the Cricket Foundation's Chance to Shine Scheme, designed to bring and sustain cricket in state schools. Fairford Cricket Club manages the Cotswold East Chance to Shine Project (left click to see the Project Plan for 2014), which was the ‘Chance to Shine Project of the Year' at the Brit Insurance Annual Achievement Awards in 2012.

Trophies and certificates at the club's
Presentation Evening on 14th September 2013 were presented by our guest of honour Gloucestershire fast bowler Liam Norwell.

The
Club's Constitution is open and equitable and we adhere to the principles and guidelines of the ECB Club Inclusion & Diversity Policy. This philosophy is reflected in our Equity Policy Statement and Codes of Conduct for Parents and Junior Members; Cricket Club Members and Guests. Membership Fees are structured to encourage people from different age groups and varied backgrounds to join us and take advantage of our strong social membership and excellent bar facilities. We offer General Advice and Information for Parents and Junior Players and have Evacuation and Emergency Procedures in place, as well as a Map and Directions to Cirencester Hospital available should they ever be needed.

Adult and Junior Pre-Season Indoor Nets (left click to see dates for 2015)
take place in the Farmor's Sports Centre, Fairford.

The club calendar is designed to show tournaments, functions and special events taking place at our ground or connected with the club, whilst all fixtures can be found by left clicking on 'Matches' in the horizontal navigation above. This is the 125th anniversary of the club's existence and we will be celebrating with a week-long festival of cricket from Saturday, 23rd August to Sunday, 31st August.

If you are interested in becoming an
Adult or Junior Member of any description please do not hesitate to contact us as we would love to see you. Enrolment for adult and junior players begins each season at our annual 'Open Day' which took place this year on Saturday, 5th April 2014.
